The Cohen Foundation has made landmark gifts to several hospitals and organizations in the tri-state area. The Foundation’s involvement and support has helped create state-of-the-art facilities for children and provide increased access to the highest quality medical care for the community at large.
Greenwich Hospital
The Foundation supports the Greenwich Hospital Outpatient Center and its care to patients whose parents are under- or uninsured, or whose income falls within government poverty guidelines.
Cohen Children’s Institute at Stamford Hospital
The Foundation has donated a total of $20 million to create the Cohen Children’s Institute at Stamford Hospital which will incorporate all current and future pediatric services at Stamford Hospital. This includes the Cohen Children’s Specialty Center, and the Cohen Pediatric Emergency Services Center and trauma program.
Steven and Alexandra Cohen Center for Labor and Birth at Mt. Sinai Medical Center
The new Steven and Alexandra Cohen Center for Labor and Birth at Mount Sinai, will allow women, newborns and families to experience the most cutting edge technology in maternal care in a modern and comfortable environment.
Cohen Children’s Medical Center at North Shore- LIJ
In 2010, the Cohens pledged $50 million to North Shore-LIJ to build the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center, a new complex, including a pediatric emergency center, intensive care unit, medical-surgical unit, and surgery center.
Alexandra & Steven Cohen Pediatric Emergency Department at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital
The Cohen Foundation’s gift of $50 million to New York Presbyterian Hospital helped create the Alexandra & Steven Cohen Pediatric Emergency Department. The Level I pediatric trauma center is equipped to treat 60,000 patients annually.
