Underserved Communities
The Cohen Foundation is committed to serving the underserved, both locally and nationally. The Foundation gives to a wide range of organizations, including those that offer services for families in need, first responders, and other public service organizations.
Robin Hood
The Cohens have supported the Robin Hood Foundation since 1997, giving a total of nearly $100 million, and Steve Cohen served as a member of the Board for more than ten years.
New York Restoration Project
The Foundation provides ongoing support to the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming open space in underserved communities to create a greener, more sustainable New York City.
Steven & Alexandra Cohen Skating Center and Fountain at Mill River Park
A gift to Mill River Park is funding the construction and long-term maintenance of an interactive fountain and seasonal outdoor ice skating rink in Stamford, CT. The fund also provides subsidized admissions, lessons and skate rentals for disadvantaged children.
Person-to-Person
The Cohen Foundation most recently helped Person-to-Person expand and remodel its location in Norwalk, CT, allowing the organization to extend its hours, add casework offices and renovate the food pantry.
God’s Love We Deliver
The Cohen Foundation is helping GLWD to renovate its current site, including the building of a brand new kitchen. This will help the agency better carry out its mission of providing meals for those in need in the tri-state area.
