Welcome to our new blog! We created steveandalex.org because we wanted a place online where we could talk about something that’s incredibly important to us: Giving.

We’re extremely proud of the difference we’ve been able to make with the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, but we also feel strongly that our personal giving is only the beginning. With this blog—and our new Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts—we want to showcase the good that all kinds of giving can do, and encourage everyone, regardless of what they have, to give a little of it. We truly believe that giving isn’t limited to money, it’s also about giving time to organizations in need of volunteers, or utilizing the talents that make us special in the service of a good cause.

With that in mind, we’re putting our blog to work, so it can give in three ways: inspiration, advice, and updates.

Giving Inspiration

Motivation is everything. These posts will highlight the “why” of charity and volunteering; the things that inspire us; and the incredible good that giving can do. We hope that seeing stories about the impact that gifts can have will inspire you and the people you know to give.

Giving Advice

Before we even started our giving, we found the “why” and “how” to be kind of intimidating, and we don’t think we’re alone. How do you pick out a worthy cause to support? How do you find a reputable organization? What organizations rely on volunteers, and what organizations deserve money? We’ll use our experience to offer tips to guide you in the right direction so that you never second-guess where, and how, you choose to give.

Giving Updates

Here’s where we share where we give, and why. We’ll let you know about new gifts, events, and amazing stories from our partners to show giving in action and demonstrate the good we can do, together.

It’s our hope that this page will shine the spotlight on giving and really demonstrate the tremendous impact even the smallest gifts can have. Join us in GIVING, and we promise you’ll receive more than you ever imagined in return.
