A bus once used by famous American musicians to go on tour is hitting the road with a new star, Giving. Sponsored by the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, the bus will hit the road for the inaugural “Giving Tour,” a philanthropic initiative that will span over 2,000 miles, across seven cities and states in six days. The Tour is designed to highlight organizations that are having a positive impact on their community and to inspire individuals to action.
From April 25 to April 30, the Giving Tour will travel from Chicago to Las Vegas on a mission to educate, inspire and give. Team members from the Foundation, led by president Alexandra Cohen, will stop at local organizations that are making a positive difference in their community to volunteer their time and provide a financial commitment to help these organizations continue the work they’re doing.
“The Giving Tour is about inspiring others to give, not just money, but their time, talents and treasure. It’s about bringing awareness to the middle of the country and the great organizations in all of the states that we’re hitting,” said Cohen. “We want to help, serve, show and inspire people to give back in any way that they can, big or small. We are all capable of making a difference in someone else’s life.”
Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation has donated millions of dollars to organizations that seek to directly provide better health and education for children, lift up veterans, and support the arts. An extension of the Foundation, the new grassroots, great American road trip-style tour serves to raise awareness of how each non-profit group is enriching and improving its community and drive home the point that giving back in any form can make a profound difference.
